We are involved in restoration of all kinds of historic structures including National Treasures and National Cultural Properties as well as locally designated cultural properties. We intend to assist restoration and proposals for adaptive use of precious historic cultural properties based on our long experience in the field.

Preservation projects at Historic Sites and Places of Scenic Beauty as well as reconstruction of lost architecture have developed to become one of our major fields. Based on reliable archaeological studies and research, we put to use the knowledge of traditional architectural techniques acquired through our experience at restoration sites.

Regular courses are held for architectural conservators and carpenters specializing in restoration. We regard this as one of the major responsibilities for JACAM, a leading organization in the field. There are separate course for architectural conservators and carpenters each at different skill levels.


Various publications are made for spreading information obtained through architectural conservation. We intend to analyze our findings and execute further research in order to share the information with the public. We plan to reinforce this area in the future. Assistance is provided for surveys and research regarding architectural conservation to workers at our foundation.


Cultural properties are a common treasure to the world regardless of nationality, race, or language. International cooperation is essential in preservation of the world's architectural heritage.


Conservation techniques of Japan have gained international appraisal and dissemination of the unique techniques is highly demanded from numerous foreign countries. We intend to respond to such requests as much as we can.
